This option is $1,500/day in your on our route and $5,000/day anywhere else.

5 Day Intensive (1 on 1)

Are you on the brink of becoming a pipeline welder?

You have a rig put together, you have welding experience, and now you’re ready to transition to pipeline welding.

In 5 days, we will work through your hangups and get your confident for test day.

Small Group

This small group pipe welding session offers hands-on training in a focused setting with just 2 to 4 students. Over one or two days, participants will learn essential skills like torch cutting, beveling, fit-up, and completing an 8-inch weld using provided materials and equipment.

Coffee talk

So I am offering to meet you at a coffee shop for a couple/few hours and let you pick my brain and ask any questions about how I got to where I am today. Becoming a pipeline welder, a mobile rig welder, running a business, ect.

    • Primarily for downhill pipe welding 6010 & 8010 and to practice the 12 on 12 Branch.

    • We are open to custom opportunities as well. Pipe fence, basic fabrication, ect. Just share your idea with us and we can visit about it  and see whether it would be a good fit for us to work with you!

  • This 1 on 1 one option is solely focused on the 1 on 1 aspect. From Austin and Leo’s (pipeline welder who acts as another instructor at the branch workshop’s) experience with the branch workshops where they had 4-6 students,  they have learned how valuable a 1 on 1 session is compared to the Workshop with 4-6 students. Even in just one day. At the branch workshops where they had just 4 students to 2 instructors, they were hyper aware of how the students that did not have an instructor there to assist them for just a few minutes while an instructor was helping another student, would get going in the wrong direction. And this is what spurred the idea of the 1 on 1 and how much more valuable a 1 on 1 can be. This is not to say the workshops are not as valuable but they are set up differently to cater to more students and we have a limit of 2 students to 1 instructor. This helps keep the value of the group session up where we think it  should be. At A Ross Welding, we are focused on Quality over Quantity.

     

    -A totally focused instructor, Focused on you, No distractions

    - You have them all to yourself for a day. Not only for the on demand instruction while watching you fit and weld but to also pick their brain about anything they have done over the years to get to where they are today. 

    -You also get dedicated time to visit over lunch at your favorite local restaurant! On the house! Again, to ask any questions you may have, build a relationship with a new friend!  So come prepared with those questions!

    -Best of all, you walk away with a personal relationship with Austin or another great A Ross Welding Instructor that has multiple years of experience and connections! It’s hard to put a value on that!!! But remember, it’s up to you to keep up with the relationship! So after your 1 on 1 don’t hesitate to pick up the phone and check in on your new friend!

    Once we plan the route, we will notify you about when I will be in your area and for how long I will be there. 

    You can then pick a date that works best for you. Once we get you a date locked in, ideally within at least two or three weeks ahead of time if not more, then we will ask for the deposit amount of half the total amount.

Duration: 1 Day  8am - 5pm

The Curriculum:

-Cutting torch basics

-Make one hand cut on 8” or 12” sch 40 pipe

-Hand Bevel with a grinder

-Beveling machine basics

-Make one cut with the beveling machine

-Fit up one 8” weld

-Make at least one 8” weld. More if we have time. 


What we will Supply:

-Pipe

-Beveling machine

-Torch

-Welding rod

-Grinder

-All consumables: Welding Rod, cutting gas, grinding disks, ect


What you need:

-Welding Hood with a CLEAN clear lens!

-Comfortable Safety Glasses

-Comfortable Gloves

-Comfortable Long Sleeve Welding Shirt

-A Location for us to weld

My goal with this welding session is to help you feel more confident in dealing with pipe! I’ve often said, pipe is just like welding any other two pieces of metal together, except it’s round. 

Whether you are on the brink of becoming a pipeline welder or just looking to learn from a professional so you can take on more pipe welding projects with confidence. This session is for you!

5 Day Intensive (1-on-1)

Are you on the brink of becoming a pipeline welder?

You have a rig put together, you’ve been welding in plants for a while now. Or maybe you have years of structural welding under your belt. Or even welding on the farm or lots of different types of mobile welding. Maybe you’ve taken a couple pipeline tests already but can’t seem to get past the test. Maybe you’ve been doing a lot of practicing on pipe but you just can’t seem to get that downhill open root pass down…

Hi, I’m Austin! I have been stick welding for nearly 20 years. About half of those years have been on pipe. Downhill welding specifically. During my pipeline welding career I have worked in at least 9 states and tested in for around 25 different oil and gas companies. 
As of lately, I have been traveling all over the US going directly to clients themselves and sharing my pipe welding experience with them for just one day. The progress I have seen in just a days time has been huge! In general, all that lacks is more hood time! Which is what led to this idea of the 4 day intensive! Sometimes we just need a professional there to show us what to adjust in real time and also just to be there to hold us accountable and keep us motivated to keep pushing through the experience we need to get us ready for that opportunity. In this case, a pipeline test that has the potential to change your life!

I am here to help you advance faster. Answers to your questions

  • Deposits are nonrefundable

  • If you need to change your date, you must do it 14 days in advance. This way we can visit with others in your area to see if they can change their dates with yours. If we can not work out a new date we may have to just reschedule all together. Desposits are nonrefundable.
